For decades 5S practitioners have struggled with exactly how to implement and sustain a 5S program in their workplaces. While there are many informative books available on the organization methods suggested by 5S—seiri, seiton, seiso, seiketsu, and shitsuke—there is none that provides managers, supervisors, and employees with an easy to understand step-by-step guide to first set up successful implementation of 5S incorporating efficiency and effectiveness and follow up with ideas on how to maintain the resultant new order.
